I am Maxine B. and I’m what the world will call a jack of all trade, but I like to be call multi-dimensional. I have always done artsy and crafty things all my life, from sewing to photography and almost everything in between. I’ve taken art classes in high school and college because I have always loved colors and painting, but alas, I am not the gifted one in the family. My two brothers are great at the drawing and painting, I consider myself the consequential novice. My youngest brother took his skills and is a graphic designer; while my other brother paints and drawing, does mixed media and he can create about anything that is presented to him. I have always loved to give handmade gifts and presents to people and my family, friends, and co-workers have benefited from my creations. These could be cards I created to making ornaments with the Christmas stockings for their tree.

I started papercrafting in 2014 after I became hurt and was out of work for three months. I needed something to occupy my mind off my injury. I started sewing at first to make a quilt for my mother and as I was researching on Pinterest, I started seeing how people were making their own cards with these great supplies. I made cards for my family and co-workers for Christmas 2013 from construction paper, and compare to now, they were let say sad :(. However, everyone enjoyed them. Thank the Good Lord for compassionated people. Anyhow, I started collecting supplies and products from cuttlebugs, embossing folders, dies and Cricut Explorer, to Copics and stickles and almost everything in-between and started making cards for everyone. Now I am addicted.

I have taken some classes, but also just learned on my own things I enjoy from knitting, photography, sewing quilts, and papercrafting. In November 2014, I received my Standard Copic Certification (Yeah!!) and I am looking forward to the Intermediate Certification in August 2015. I live in Georgia and the closest certification will be in Charlotte in August.

I hope that this blog will inspire and encourage all to create something.

Many Thanks and Love Makie
